I just read an article via imadra_blue that talks about Mary Sues in a way I never thought about before.

Mary Sue, what are you? Or why the concept of Sue is sexist

IMO in fandom, Mary Sues tend to be original characters that the author creates to take a lead role in their fic. This is something difficult to do as I think readers tend to prefer reading about established characters rather than have someone new come in and seem perfect. There are OFCs that can be written amazingly well, but there are some who are written poorly and it's the latter that I think bring about ire and shouts of Mary Sue.

But then I wonder: would I dislike this character (however written) if she were a he instead but did all of the same things/had the same traits? If my answer is "No", then I think there's a problem.

I have a couple things already up there, but the posting will be slow. I've also decided to post only the stories I actually like and think should be preserved. A lot of my really old work will not be there. I'm not posting any of my Harry Potter fics, there's some DA, Drom, and DBZ(GT) that won't be there.

I also really like AO3's "pseuds" function. If an author has written under multiple names, all of them can be up.

So I've been thinking about "Sun Kissed" for a while, but these last two days it's always been at the forefront in my mind.

I want to get the next chapter out, but it's been hard.

The last SK chapter was September of '09. My last new fic February '09. I somehow miraculously updated my Andromeda fic 2 months ago though.

Sooooo. I now ask for some help if anyone would be so inclined. If anyone wants to show me their favourite Anakin and Obi-Wan pics/quotes/scenes/moments, by all means comment away! Maybe it will inspire me to finally get off my ass and write, now that I have the time!

Holy crap...I'm done.
