Some thoughts on my reading on the film: I sort of thought they were trying to imply that Raven was actually in love with Charles with the way she cockblocked him in that one scene and then went to him after Erik said she was beautiful, hoping to provoke a similar reaction.

And I think given the actors' interviews about everything, they didn't mean to imply that Erik and Raven were going to be together? Hence the ambiguity? I dunno. The pairing makes me really uncomfortable because she's so much younger. Of course that makes no sense, since I think they tried to say she was the same age as Charles and that Charles was younger than McAvoy's 32 years, but there was a lot of freaking clumsiness in that regard.

Also, seriously what's with Fassy and the incredibly young romantic leads? I mean, Centurion, Jane Eyre, not to mention Fish Tank. No wonder he's shacking up with somebody younger than me, he's forgotten what a woman actually looks like.

I'm totally with you on the three movie deal. At the end of two, surely? With three being the ultimate fight? BLARG.
